Back in 2002 when I made the decision to train as an image consultant I did very little research into which company to train with. A tad silly you might think but, in my defence, it was a bit of no brainer given my sister-in-law was one half of Absolute Image, a Federation of Image Professionals accredited training provider (ATP) and they ran their training courses a short drive from where I lived.
But that was then, and this is now. In the 20 years since I first trained, the industry has exploded and you’ve only got to do a quick search online to see there are many companies (some accredited and others non-accredited) providing training in all aspects of image consultancy.
With so much choice now available it’s more important than ever to do your research and choose wisely when deciding who to train with. I’m not saying that a course that isn’t certified is bad but training with a FIPI ATP not only gives you credibility in the industry, it makes prospective clients more comfortable and provides you with peace of mind that the course content has been approved by a third party.
